Czigmeister • Hackettstown, NJ

A few days ago, my friends and I went on a beer adventure and we found this little hidden gem call Czigmeister. Czigmeister is this cool, hipster brewery located in Hackettstown, NJ. The environment is super chill & all they have is beer- no food.

However, the upside is, you can bring whatever kind of food you would like. You could stop by your local grocery store and pick up some finger food, such as: chips & salsa, chips & dip, chips & guac (can you guess what my favorite finger food is?)  or you can order delivery. Either way, it’s a fun time.

Not your average Brunch

Ah, summertime – best time of the year for getting brunch with your girls / family / significant other. However, brunches can get pretty expensive if you go out every weekend, so here are the steps to create the BEST DIY BRUNCH DAY EVER!

First, you’ll need to create a cute & fun invite to send out to all your friends – making it super official. There are a few ways you can create that perfect invite:

  1. Check out Paperless Post for ready to send custom invite instead, making your life simple while making you look chic. My favorites on the site are: Cucumber Lemon Vodka, Mother’s Day Brunch & Pop the Bubbly.

    Cucumber Lemon Vodka Invite

    Mother’s Day Brunch Invite

    Pop The Bubbly Invite
  2. If you’re feeling EXTRA creative and want to create your own, try using Canva for an easy DIY “hand crafted” card! Just choose the “Card” template and start designing. (They also have already made cards as well)

Now that you’re all done with your invites, it’s time to send them out and wait for their RSVPs. In the meantime, you need to start preparing the menu – the main event of brunch. Here are a few of my favorite dishes:

  1. Eggs Benedict with Shortcut Hollandaise
  2. Nutella Stuffed Pancakes
  3. Cranberry French Toast with Mascarpone
  4. Twisted Sticky Caramel-Pecan Roll
  5. Tomato-Cheddar Strata with Broccoli
  6. Overnight Savory French Toast

And now onto the mimosas

  1. Watermelon Agua Fresca Mimosas
  2. Pineapple Coconut Champagne
  3. Raspberry cream mimosa
  4. Tangerine Sorbet Champagne Floats
  5. White Cranberry Mimosa
  6. Lemonade Mimosa with Bloody Orange

Lastly, time to decorate the shiz out of your place to make it the best brunch ever. The best place to find the best decor idea is on…PINTEREST! (How basic)

Comment down below your favorite location / food for brunch 😊

How to balance a Healthy Lifestyle

I have to be 100% honest with you all, it’s HARD balancing a healthy lifestyle. Some say it’s impossible, but like my bio – even the word impossible has I’m possible in it.

As you all know (if you’re a new reader, keep on reading and you’ll be all caught up!), I recently started my full time job which has a longer work day than most. I wake up everyday at 5am and sometimes don’t get home until 8pm or 9pm. Yet I still manage to do a quick 30 mins to 1 hour workout daily.

When you’re working out, you HAVE TO motivate yourself by setting a goal. It could either be losing X amount of weight or building muscles. Whatever your goal may be, stick to it. Write it in a journal and track your progress daily. You could also take a picture every week to see your own progress, that’s always a great way to motivate yourself to work harder.

When working out, it’s important to be sweating your butt off. That’s how you know you’re pushing yourself. Since I have such a tight schedule, I usually workout at home by watching some YouTube videos instead of going to a gym. Here are some channels I LOVE working out to.

Boho Beautiful, she does a lot of yoga, Pilates and HIIT workouts. She shows you detailed instructions and does it with you. I LOVE doing this when I want to fit a quick workout in. I usually do 2 videos per workout.

XHit, it’s a channel showcasing various trainers with various exercises. It depends on what you’re aiming to do, they probably have it. Again, I usually do 2 videos per workout.

Lastly, the infamous Kayla Itsines! If you want, you can purchase her ebook guide online or download her app to purchase them as well. However, I found that if you do this little trick, you can do her Bikini Body Guide (BBG) for free.

  1. Search Kayla Itsines on YouTube
  2. Click on the first video. It’s of a woman doing the whole guide showcasing her transformation and it tells you what the exercises are.

Fair warning: the BBG is HARD and will make you SWEAT!!! But it’ll feel so good afterwards. Currently I’m only on week 1, day 2. Follow my health journey on my Instagram!!

As you can tell, I’m a skinny built girl – but I want to be fit and healthy. Follow my journey!

Meal Prep | Lunch Edition

Recently I’ve discovered the BEST homemade lunch for work that everyone should 100% try it out. It’s healthy and delicious (delicious is the key word).

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Quinoa
  • Kale
  • Grape Tomatoes
  • Small piece of Salmon (or you can substitute with any kind of meat)
  • Pine nuts
  • Red/Yellow/Orange peppers
  • Lemon pepper salt
  • Coconut oil
  • Garlic
  • Onion

To start off, you’ll need to first cut up the kale into little chunks, cut the grape tomatoes in half, season the salmon (or any kind of meat) with lemon pepper salt and cut up the peppers into little cubes.

First, preheat the oven at 350 and grease your pan to start baking the salmon for 30 mins. While the salmon is cooking, start cooking your quinoa on the side. Then startheating up your pan with a little bit of coconut oil on medium heat. Add in some garlic for flavor, then gradually add in the assortment of peppers, onion, kale and grape tomatoes. Allow it to cook until tender (around 10 mins or less).

Now that everything is cooked, you can start packing your lunches!

Place the quinoa on the bottom, top it off with the kale, garlic, onion, tomato and pepper mixture on top of it. Add the salmon on top and sprinkle some pine nut to top it all off. Just like that, you’re ALL DONE!

If you end up trying out this recipe, let me know how you like it! Or if you have a healthy recipe you enjoy making for lunch, I’d LOVE to try it out too.

The High Line • Chelsea Market • Meatpacking District

Beyond this point you may encounter nude sunbathers. In case you were wondering, I didn’t see any.

BEST. POPSICLE. EVER. All homemade, fresh fruit Popsicles that melt your problems away on a hot summer day.

This past July 4th weekend, Sagi and I went on a mini vacation to explore NYC! This is one of the many places we stopped by – The Meatpacking District.

We first went on The High Line, and walked up and down the bridge. Throughout the whole bridge, there are art left and right for you to admire. When you walk towards the middle, there are a bunch of vendors, such as this popsicle place.

When you walk down the stairs from the middle, you will end up at The Chelsea Market aka the best location for all foodies. There are more than 15 vendors inside, from Italian food to fresh seafood. Sagi and I found the BEST food combo ever and inexpensive as well. If you purchase a fresh pita bread from DIZEN GOFF and a bowl of fresh lobster bisque from The Lobster Place, you will taste heaven in your mouth. No joke, Sagi wanted to tell the security guard to try it.

Besides those two vendors, there are lots of other delicious places to try from. Unfortunately, we ate too much before we arrived :(. Tip of the day: don’t be like Sagi and I, be sure to go on an empty stomach!!!

If you’ve ever been, please let me know which is your favorite vendor! Also, leave a comment below on where we should go next in NYC.

Yay I got my first job – how do I feel about it?

Since my graduation in May, I started working in the big apple – NYC at a media company! I remember when I was in college, this was everything I wanted after graduation. I was hypnotized by the fast paced city life, in comparison to NJ.

Till today, I still really enjoy that type of lifestyle – but it does get exhausting sometimes. Keep in mind when you find a job in NYC, you will be working long hours (9-8) – sometimes even till midnight. There’s no such thing as normal work hours or a work life balance on weekdays. However, it could also be because I’m an entry level employee.

Fortunately, I’m learning a lot for the four weeks I started working. I was able to be complete a whole project on my own and little assignments on the side. It’s been an overwhelming four weeks but also exciting. It’s very different than college which I wasn’t expecting, maybe I was in denial/college withdrawal.

Leave a comment below on what your first full time job experience was/is like? I’d love to hear your opinions!

Blooming pink 🌸 || OOTD

Shirt: Charlotte Russe // Pants: Mango // Shoes: Payless // Bag: Kate Spade

These days, summer feels like spring most of the time – which I’m not complaining at all. I’m definitely enjoying the fact that I can still wear jeans and not be sweating like crazy.

The look I have on is for my cousin’s baby shower, who I am SO excited to meet! I picked this outfit, because it’s 1. It’s Appropriate 2. It’s super cute. Pink and white is my favorite combo for any outfits, and to think I used to hate pink. The shirt has a lace pattern over it, so it adds that girly effect. The jeans are boyfriend jeans so they’re extremely comfortable but still looking cute. My shoes are the perfect height, where you’re able to get that extra boost of height but not too high where you’d be tripping all day – and really comfortable. Lastly the bag was a gift from a family friend and it just adds a pop of blue to my whole outfit.

Much love,

City Kitchen in NYC | Foodie Review

Do you love food and hate how restaurants don’t have a wide range of variety? Well, City Kitchen is the place for you! City Kitchen’s layout is essentially an IKEA food hall layout, but with different vendors in the food hall. The vendors range from sushi to mexican food to seafood to dessert. You will never get bored or hungry when you’re here.

Here’s a list of  their vendors and their menus:

Azuki | BOX | Dough | Gabriela’s Taqueria | Kuro-Obi | Lukes | Whitmans

At Azuki, I didn’t get anything because I got SO much food everywhere else.

At BOX, I got a Roasted Duck (shawarma) which was different than the usual shawarma that I’ve had. It was different but really delicious. Imagine a peking duck with shawarma sauce inside a pita wrap, that’s what it tasted like.

At Dough, I got a Dulce de Leche with Tasted Almonds doughnut that was HUGE. It was bigger than the size of my hand, but again, it was delicious. The dough wasn’t hard, it was flaky and the toppings were to die for.

At Gabriela’s Taqueria, I got an Al Pastor tacos and it was delicious, again. The taco shell was freshly made and so were the fillings. It was super moist and tasty, definitely one of the best tacos I’ve ever had.

At Kuro-Obi, I got a Pork Bun which is essentially a steamed bun that is shaped like a taco shell, but soft and moist with pork belly inside. It was DELICIOUS and very tasty. It came with two buns, so the portions were small, but definitely worth the money.

At Lukes, I got a Lobster Roll which I’ve gotten before in Boston, and it’s still just as good as I remembered. The bread was perfectly toasted and the lobster was drenched in butter. OMG thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Lastly, I didn’t get anything from Whitmans because they had burgers and fries and I’ve had that every day for the past few days. I can’t help it, but I LOVE BURGERS AND FRIES!!

After trying out most of the vendors, I have to say…I CAN’T CHOOSE A FAVORITE, THEY’RE ALL SO DELICIOUS AND YUMMY!!!!

If you ever end up trying out City Kitchen or have ever went to City Kitchen, let me know which vendor was your favorite!

Eyebrow Tint | #BeautyHack

How many of my readers have sparse eyebrows and is sick and tired of filling them in every single day?? Cause I know I am. I’m going to share with you my favorite eyebrow products and my recent discovery that will solve your problem.

For the past few months, my favorite go-to eyebrow pencil is from KIKO MILANO. This store is located at almost every mall I’ve been to in New Jersey. If you have trouble finding one located near you, they have a website that I’ve attached above!

This Precision Eyebrow Pencil is my holy grail and I LOVE it. The color pigmentation is ahhhh-mazing and the price is a steal! ($9.99) The product is almost as great as the Anastasia Eyebrow Pencil, which is crazy. I would recommend this product to anyone of my friends/family/readers/anyone, and I know anyone would love it too.

But…if you’re getting tired to filling them in all the time, every single day; then keep on reading. I’ve recently discovered EYEBROW TINT!! (I know it’s been around for a while, but I was always too afraid to try.)

Godefroy Eyebrow Tint Kit, Dark Brown

The Godefroy Eyebrow Tint Kit is sold on Amazon, Ebay, and in some stores. The price for the eyebrow tint varies from $10-13, but it comes with a large amount of product. Each box comes with a: 20 Pre-measured Color Capsules, Cream Developer 1.5 oz, Reusable Applicator Brush, Mixing Cup, Instruction Sheet. It claims that it lasts for  uses, but each capsule can be used for several applications and you can’t keep it after you’ve mixed it with the cream developer. So, here’s my little tip for you: Go to the dollar store and purchase a contact case – open the capsules and pour 2 in the left side, and pour in some cream developer in the right side.

So, here’s my little tip for you: Go to the dollar store and purchase a contact case – open the capsules and pour 2 in the left side, and pour in some cream developer in the right side. For each application, use the brush included and scoop out a little bit and pour it into the mixing cup; repeat the same process for the cream developer. Mix the mixture into a creamy consistency and start dabbing on your eyebrows. Leave it on for 1-2 minutes, wipe it off with warm water and pat dry with tissue. Mine lasted for a week, which is pretty good for me!

Let me know if you end up trying this product on your own and your feedback on it!

The Lion King: On Broadway | Review

lion king broadway picture

Disclaimer: My review of The Lion Kong is solely based on a personal opinion.

Hakuna Matata, it means no worries. Who has heard that phrase before? Probably everyone…I hope. Well if you don’t know this phrase, then you should go to your local public library to pick up a copy of The Lion King and watch it ASAP.

Recently, I got a chance to watch The Lion King live on broadway at Minskoff Theatre in New York City (NYC) and here’s what I have to say about the experience. Initially, when you get there, you wait in a line outside. The line wasn’t too bad and it went by fairly quickly. They check your bag and jackets prior to entering so it made me feel safe(r) being in a dark theater. The theater itself is 3(?) stories tall and there are theater staffs at every floor to help navigate you to the proper seating area. Outside of the theater is a little concession stand with alcoholic beverages, snacks, and soft drinks. The pricing of the items are a little expensive, but that was predicted. (Imagine the movies, but a little bit more expensive.)

After getting my drink, I walked into the theater and a theater staff helped me find my seat. The whole process was pretty smooth and it was enjoyable. The theater itself is a decent size, I sat in the orchestra section towards the left. I could see basically the entire stage and the seats were comfortable. The theater wasn’t too cold or hot throughout the whole show, it was the perfect temperature.

The show itself was great, the costumes were amazing and the actors/actresses were awesome. But, I would still personally won’t recommend this as a “must-see” broadway show. Here’s why. The beginning of the show is incredible with great songs and acting. However, as the show goes on, it gets more…boring. It was hard to adjust from cartoon characters to real life people with masks on top of their heads. Even though they sang each and every song flawlessly, the show itself as a whole was just not as enjoyable as I imagined so. The beginning of the show is the most exciting part, the middle and end are the most “ehh” parts.

If you have seen The Lion King on broadway as well, what were your thoughts on it? Do you agree with my opinion or do you disagree? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
