Stripes in the sun ☀️

If you’re ever in downtown Tampa and looking for a cute date idea, go to the Riverwalk. It’s such a relaxing walk and the scenery is to die for. At the end of the walk, there’s a fine arts museum that you can go to. (You have to pay for admission obviously) Also, this place is one of the best places to go watch the sunset 🌅. *fellas, you’re welcome”

I’m officially 23!

About a month ago, I officially turned 23! I’m not sure how I feel about this age because according to Blink 182 – nobody likes you when you’re 23.

But I guess Blink was wrong because some of my friends came out and celebrated my special day with me. (yay friends for showing up, even though I planned this 3 days before!) For the past 2 years, I’ve been having my birthday bash in Morristown, New Jersey. If you have never been there before, think of it as a small NYC town, except on a much smaller scale. There are a few modern bars & restaurants in the center of Morristown & it’s definitely a popping place at night.

Since my birthday is in January, it’s FREEZING out at night. So on the night of my birthday bash, I went for a more comfy-chic look (I also came straight from work in the city). Most of my outfit is from the most affordable yet chic store in the world – H&M. (LOVE)

Let me know what you think about my birthday bash outfit & what is your go-to comfy chic store?

How to balance a Healthy Lifestyle

I have to be 100% honest with you all, it’s HARD balancing a healthy lifestyle. Some say it’s impossible, but like my bio – even the word impossible has I’m possible in it.

As you all know (if you’re a new reader, keep on reading and you’ll be all caught up!), I recently started my full time job which has a longer work day than most. I wake up everyday at 5am and sometimes don’t get home until 8pm or 9pm. Yet I still manage to do a quick 30 mins to 1 hour workout daily.

When you’re working out, you HAVE TO motivate yourself by setting a goal. It could either be losing X amount of weight or building muscles. Whatever your goal may be, stick to it. Write it in a journal and track your progress daily. You could also take a picture every week to see your own progress, that’s always a great way to motivate yourself to work harder.

When working out, it’s important to be sweating your butt off. That’s how you know you’re pushing yourself. Since I have such a tight schedule, I usually workout at home by watching some YouTube videos instead of going to a gym. Here are some channels I LOVE working out to.

Boho Beautiful, she does a lot of yoga, Pilates and HIIT workouts. She shows you detailed instructions and does it with you. I LOVE doing this when I want to fit a quick workout in. I usually do 2 videos per workout.

XHit, it’s a channel showcasing various trainers with various exercises. It depends on what you’re aiming to do, they probably have it. Again, I usually do 2 videos per workout.

Lastly, the infamous Kayla Itsines! If you want, you can purchase her ebook guide online or download her app to purchase them as well. However, I found that if you do this little trick, you can do her Bikini Body Guide (BBG) for free.

  1. Search Kayla Itsines on YouTube
  2. Click on the first video. It’s of a woman doing the whole guide showcasing her transformation and it tells you what the exercises are.

Fair warning: the BBG is HARD and will make you SWEAT!!! But it’ll feel so good afterwards. Currently I’m only on week 1, day 2. Follow my health journey on my Instagram!!

As you can tell, I’m a skinny built girl – but I want to be fit and healthy. Follow my journey!

The High Line • Chelsea Market • Meatpacking District

Beyond this point you may encounter nude sunbathers. In case you were wondering, I didn’t see any.

BEST. POPSICLE. EVER. All homemade, fresh fruit Popsicles that melt your problems away on a hot summer day.

This past July 4th weekend, Sagi and I went on a mini vacation to explore NYC! This is one of the many places we stopped by – The Meatpacking District.

We first went on The High Line, and walked up and down the bridge. Throughout the whole bridge, there are art left and right for you to admire. When you walk towards the middle, there are a bunch of vendors, such as this popsicle place.

When you walk down the stairs from the middle, you will end up at The Chelsea Market aka the best location for all foodies. There are more than 15 vendors inside, from Italian food to fresh seafood. Sagi and I found the BEST food combo ever and inexpensive as well. If you purchase a fresh pita bread from DIZEN GOFF and a bowl of fresh lobster bisque from The Lobster Place, you will taste heaven in your mouth. No joke, Sagi wanted to tell the security guard to try it.

Besides those two vendors, there are lots of other delicious places to try from. Unfortunately, we ate too much before we arrived :(. Tip of the day: don’t be like Sagi and I, be sure to go on an empty stomach!!!

If you’ve ever been, please let me know which is your favorite vendor! Also, leave a comment below on where we should go next in NYC.

The Lion King: On Broadway | Review

lion king broadway picture

Disclaimer: My review of The Lion Kong is solely based on a personal opinion.

Hakuna Matata, it means no worries. Who has heard that phrase before? Probably everyone…I hope. Well if you don’t know this phrase, then you should go to your local public library to pick up a copy of The Lion King and watch it ASAP.

Recently, I got a chance to watch The Lion King live on broadway at Minskoff Theatre in New York City (NYC) and here’s what I have to say about the experience. Initially, when you get there, you wait in a line outside. The line wasn’t too bad and it went by fairly quickly. They check your bag and jackets prior to entering so it made me feel safe(r) being in a dark theater. The theater itself is 3(?) stories tall and there are theater staffs at every floor to help navigate you to the proper seating area. Outside of the theater is a little concession stand with alcoholic beverages, snacks, and soft drinks. The pricing of the items are a little expensive, but that was predicted. (Imagine the movies, but a little bit more expensive.)

After getting my drink, I walked into the theater and a theater staff helped me find my seat. The whole process was pretty smooth and it was enjoyable. The theater itself is a decent size, I sat in the orchestra section towards the left. I could see basically the entire stage and the seats were comfortable. The theater wasn’t too cold or hot throughout the whole show, it was the perfect temperature.

The show itself was great, the costumes were amazing and the actors/actresses were awesome. But, I would still personally won’t recommend this as a “must-see” broadway show. Here’s why. The beginning of the show is incredible with great songs and acting. However, as the show goes on, it gets more…boring. It was hard to adjust from cartoon characters to real life people with masks on top of their heads. Even though they sang each and every song flawlessly, the show itself as a whole was just not as enjoyable as I imagined so. The beginning of the show is the most exciting part, the middle and end are the most “ehh” parts.

If you have seen The Lion King on broadway as well, what were your thoughts on it? Do you agree with my opinion or do you disagree? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

XFinity Live! | Philadelphia, PA

A few weekends ago, I got a chance to go to XFinity Live! in Philly and it was a pretty interesting night. We first got an Uber to drive us from our college to the destination. Our Uber driver was the absolutely best, she was hilarious but awkward at the same time. Imagine your high school bus driver, with big glasses, a baseball cap, big funky hair and sweats. Got that image? Well that’s what our Uber driver looked like. If I could request her every time, I definitely would.

When we first got to XFinity Live! we didn’t have to pay a cover because my boyfriend’s roommate had a free cover. (That came in clutch, because #BrokeCollegeStudentStatus) We started at the 1100 Social Bar, which is located in the front of the entrance. The bar has a restaurant with a full menu and a bar attached to it. They had a happy hour deal from 8pm – 11pm, so we tried to take advantage of that. Unfortunately, I accidentally ordered a drink that wasn’t on the happy hour menu for a whoopin’ $10 for a cocktail. I mean it was pretty damn delicious, but I wasn’t planning on spending $10 a drink… After my first drink, I learned my lesson and decided to only get well drinks. Basically it consisted of me getting a few Gin and Ginger all night, aka my FAVORITE drink of all time.

After a few drinks in, we decided we wanted to get some crab fries from Chickie’s and Pete’s but unfortunately it was closed. 😦 But we settled for Geno’s Steak instead, which was really delicious – definitely recommend it to everyone.

If 1100 Social Bar doesn’t sound too appealing to you, There’s also 3 other bars in Xfinity Live! Each bar with different music and environment. The bars are: Broad St. Bullie8, PBR Bar & Grill and Victory Beer Hall. Broad St. Bullie8 has a similar feel to 1100 Social Bar, but it’s a little less “sophisticated”. It feels like a relaxing place for people to whine down and relax. PBR Bar & Grill on the other hand has a mechanical bull in the bar, and I personally didn’t ride it, but it looked pretty fun. It’s definitely the place to be if you’re turning 21 and want to have a little more fun. Lastly, Victory Beer Hall is a pretty chill environment. They have a live band playing at night and a patio with a bonfire. It’s definitely a place for people who want to have fun but relax at the same time. I definitely liked Victory Beer Hall the most out of all the bars.

Update: I went back last weekend and I still liked Victory Beer Hall the most out of all the bars.

What You Should Watch Next on Netflix…

c201c88a-3b61-486f-9e46-9c54818b9936_625x352

Jane The Virgin.

Yeah, I said it. I have to admit, when I first heard about this show, I was a little skeptical. The title seemed odd and the cover seemed uninteresting. Basically, I scrolled through it and I ignored it for a whole semester. But then, everyone kept telling me about how great this show is, and I just gave in. (I also just finished another show, so I was show-less)

My first impression of the show was – holy sh*t, SO MUCH DRAMA! For those who don’t necessarily like shows that goes in order and is related to drama, then this show is not for you.  But, for those who LOVE drama as much as I do,  you’ll LOVE this show. There’s so much unknown, so much suspense, and so much detective-guessing-work on your part. It keeps you thinking and wanting more, and most importantly, it’s not repetitive. (We all know how repetitive Pretty Little Liars is)

I would give this show a 9/10 stars. I look forward to watching season 2 on Netflix when it comes out! What’s your favorite show on Netflix??

Much Love,

Livin’ that High Line Life

“Let’s go to a historic railroad in NYC, and walk around all day in the blazing hot sun!!” – my mom. As those words were coming out of her mouth, I remembered my dad, sister, and I looked at each other, then looked at her, and said “NO” But, somehow she convinced us to all go and…it was fun!

The scenery is beautiful, from the historical railroad to the magnificent art on buildings. Did I also mention that it’s definitely a place where every instagrammer should go?

Have you ever been there? If so, what did you do?

Free Kayaking in NYC?!?

I recently learned how to kayak from a close friend of mine. I’ll be honest, I was terrified at first, I chickened out, but my friend forced me to go on it and guaranteed it will be fun. I eventually went kayaking, and laughed at how silly I was for being scared. Ever since then, I want to kayak again, but never wanted to pay for it. So I searched online and found “Free Kayaking in NYC”. My initial thought was, “This cannot be real…” But, decided to go for it anyways…and what do you know? IT’S REAL!

This free kayaking location is at Pier 26 in NYC. You have to be able to swim, in order to participate. They provide you with a life vest, kayak, and paddle. All you have to do is sign a waiver, saying you understand everything. Everyone that’s working the event are all volunteers, which is so great. They are open everyday from May to October. (I believe) You are able to go kayaking for 20 minutes on your own, which is awesome. You get pretty tired afterwards, so 20 minutes is more than enough. You do have to stay within a certain perimeter, which isn’t really a problem. Everyone is very respectful of on another, it’s a great environment to be at. I’d definitely recommend this place/activity for anyone who is looking to do something in NYC.

Bring it on, 10 mile bike ride💪🏼

I went on a 10 mile bike ride with my boyfriend a few days ago. This trail is call the Columbia Trail, it also connects a few towns together. It’s hard to tell you where it’s located, because you can start from any point in any town you’d like.

We started in a town call Long Valley, NJ, ended up in Califon, NJ. We found a stream on the way and stopped for a few pictures. But, I really wanted to stop so I could rest. We can keep that in the DL. Once we arrived in Califon, we got a quick lunch at a place call Rambo’s Country Store. Such a cute little store, it’s been around since the 1990’s. I’ll have that blog up in a few days, you don’t want to miss out!

How do you like to work out?

Much Love,
