Can we just take a moment and look at this beaut?! This bowl right here is korean styled Chipotle. If you like Chipotle, then you have to try this restaurant out! This restaurant is called KBG BBQ, located in New Brunswick, NJ. The way the restaurant is set up is very similar to Chipotle. There’s a service line, where you pick your lettuce, rice, meat, and toppings. For my bowl, I got: lettuce, brown rice, noodles, spicy pork, cucumbers, and corn. Topped it off with the KBG mild sauce. Let me tell you, this bowl is DELICIOUS. The pork is perfectly cooked, everything goes so well together, it’s basically a match made in heaven.

Besides a bowl, you can make a burrito and a noodle soup bowl. You can choose from BBQ chicken, spicy pork, bulgolgi, or vegetables. Everything sounds so good, it’s so hard to choose a meat sometimes. Onto the toppings, I can’t even list them all for you, because that’s how many there are. They have kimchi toppings, but I’m not a huge fan of kimchi. Next to the korean Chipotle line, there is also a bubble tea station. You can grab a cup of bubble tea, while enjoying your bowl.

I give this restaurant a 10/10, definitely recommend it 100%! Where should I try next??

Much Love,

Navy, white, and Calvin Klein.

This was by far one of my favorite outfits I’ve worn all summer!    Sunnies: H&M // Bag: Calvin Klein (Marshalls) // Shoes: Call It Spring // Skort: Thrift Shop // Crop top: H&M

On a hot sunny day like this past weekend, this was definitely the perfect outfit for it. Let’s start with my navy skort, I got that from the thrift shop a few weeks ago. This thrift shop is called, Plato’s Closet. For those that have been there, you know the deal. For those who haven’t, well it’s basically a regular retail store, and they only sell clothes that are on trend and not worn out. The day that I went, they had a grand opening promotion – pay $15 for a bag full of clothes! What a steal! So, I went with my sister and it was a MAD HOUSE. There were SO many people there, and at one point, it was pretty hard to walk around the store. After trying all our clothes on, we decided on what we wanted, but we couldn’t’ really find too much. So we stood in line, which took around 15 minutes because of the sale. As we were about to pay, my sister found those skort, along with 2 other pair of shorts that are applicable to the $15/bag promotion. So I just stuffed it in the bag and was like, if it doesn’t fit, I’ll just donate it. Got home, tried it on and realized it’s a little snugged. I decided to keep it, because it’s just so darn cute!! So that’s the story behind that thrifted find. (If you want to see what else I got, comment below and I’ll do a thirfted haul!)

My Calvin Klein bag was a gift from my sister! She’s so awesome 🙂 She got it for me from Marshalls, because…who doesn’t love that store? You can find almost any name brands there, at an affordable price. What more could a girl ask for?? This bag is the PERFECT shade of brown and the best part is, it was on sale!

This is by far one of my favorite outfits!

Much Love,

Six Flags Adventure!

Recently, I went to Six Flags Great Adventure Amusement Park in Jackson, New Jersey. This is probably one of the best amusement parks in New Jersey, it’s also one of the few amusement parks in New Jersey as well. I’ve been going to Six Flags since I was 14 years old. I remember the first time I stepped foot onto Six Flags, I thought it was the coolest park ever. Side note: it was also the first amusement park I’ve been to in America. I ran through the park and waited in lines that took more than an hour, but I didn’t care. Back to my Six Flags adventure yesterday, it was the perfect day to go. It was sunny at times, but it was mostly cloudy. It was still hot enough to be outside in shorts and a tank top. The clouds gave us the perfect shade and breeze that we needed really badly, from standing outside in line all day long.

The lines at each amusement parks weren’t really too long, the longest wait was around 30 minutes. The park itself was pretty packed for a Thursday, I might add. Side note: we saw this guy who literally cut through every single person in line and didn’t get caught, it was crazy to watch. Waiting in line wasn’t all that bad, especially with good company. I went with my boyfriend, his brother, and their family friend. All the rides were really fun and we all really enjoyed it. (If you’d like for me to rate all the rides for you, please leave a comment below and I’ll write a review!)

At the end of the night, my boyfriend played a basketball game and won me a GIANT donut pillow. (Scroll down for pictures.) It was so nice to see that he won it for me, even though I donut (ha, see what I did there?) know where to put it in my room. It’s almost as big as me! Overall, it was definitely an eventful day.

We also recorded part of our day, so if you’d like, you can check out my vlog here. If you like the vlogs along with my blogs, then comment below and I’ll start doing it more!

Shoes: Keds // Shorts: Thrift Shop // Shirt: Dr. Jays // Bralette: JCPenny // Backpack: Thirft Shop // Donut Pillow: BAE WON IT FOR ME!
I just thought this picture was funny and wanted to share with y’all! ❤

8 Beauty Essentials – on the go version

We’re all a little busy, whether with friends or work, we’re all always on the go. Well, at least I know I am! Sometimes you might need to do a few retouches throughout the day to get that ultimate glamours look. In order to do so, you’ll need to carry a few essentials with you to help you get ready to conquer the day! Here are a few of my beauty essentials that I always have on me, or try to!

  1. Scented lotion. You have NO idea how many times this have saved me! One time I was sitting next to this guy who smelled awful, I put on my lotion and literally put my hand on my nose and just smelled my hand the whole time.
  2. Make up bag: mascara, eyeliner, blush, lipbalm/lipstick, and bronzer. Oh my, these few items are a life saver. Sometimes you just gotta fix your face up a bit to make yourself look a little bit more presentable.
  3. Gum. You don’t want your mouth to stink.
  4. Oil blotting sheets. Especially during the summer time, your face gets all kinds of oil. You don’t want that shine on your face, blot away!
  5. Sunnies. Gotta protect your eyes at all times.
  6. Water bottle. I know for myself, I always get thirsty and there never ever seem to be water around, so even if it’s heavy, I still carry it.
  7. Body spray/perfume: Sometimes you just wanna smell fresh.
  8. Deodorant: You never know whether you’re going to be sweating or not!

What are your beauty essentials?? Let me know!

Bae watching in Hoboken, NJ

Looking at bae, aka NYC ❤     I whip my hair back and forth, haha jk.
Arm band: Icings // Dress: JCPenny // Shoes: Call It Spring // Bag: Coach // Sunnies: Target

My family and I decided to go to Hoboken, New Jersey for the first time in forever yesterday. The breeze felt so nice against our skin as we stepped out our car. We saw a local soccer game happening, it was real intense. We walked on the “board walk” area, which basically is just a walkway along the side of the Hudson River.  As you look up, you’ll see a small image of New York City right in front of you. It looks so small and peaceful. New York City looks so quiet from afar, all the stress and pollution seem to disappear. The water looks so calm and rough at the same time from the wind. So let me tell you a little bit about Hoboken! Hoboken is basically a NYC, but less crowded. It has all the advantages of a city, like beauty scenery, restaurants everywhere, late hours, etc. except less busy.

My outfit is a super boho, casual outfit that I would wear everyday. The dress has a simple floral pattern on it, it’s from JCPenny. You wouldn’t think you could find cute clothing at JCP, but you’d be surprise. The sandals are also from JCPenny as well. I’ve had them for years, so they’re kinda old. The studs are also falling off of them, I need a new pair! My bag is from coach, super slim, but big enough to hold everything I need. The arm band is from Icings, it was super inexpensive and it’s actually my sisters. It just added a little more boho feel to the outfit. Lastly, my sunnies are my usual ones from Target. Super comfy and super stylish.

Have you been to Hoboken? If so, where should I check out there??

Much Love,

PHO-tastic! 🍜

Pho thanh huong in Parsippany, NJ

This weekend, my family and I stumbled upon this restaurant in Parsippany, NJ. It’s a Vietnamese restaurant. It looks like a small restaurant on the outside, but it’s actually pretty nice inside. The staff is incredibly friendly, but the AC was really low. For anyone that has had pho, you know how important it is to have AC while eating it. Basically, we were all sweating. But the food was amazing.

I ordered the brisket pho, size medium, $7.69 (around that price). The bowl is huge, there was a good chunk of brisket too, as well as noodles. The mint and bean sprouts that they serve you is so fresh. I’ve been to a pho restaurant before, where all the mint were wilting.

We also got some appetizers. The Vietnamese spring roll and this shrimp paste bamboo roll. The Vietnamese spring roll was so crunchy and the sauce and the lettuce was so fresh. Definitely one of the best spring roll I’ve had thus far. The shrimp paste bamboo roll was a little odd. It tasted almost like plastic, wouldn’t recommend that appetizer.

Overall, I LOVED this restaurant and will definitely return back ASAP!! If you’re ever in the NJ area, definitely try this pho restaurant out!

Homemade basil pesto with chicken, and avocado pasata!

Can you say YUM!? This dish was so incredibly easy to create, yet so delicious. The pesto sauce is homemade and it was my first time making it. I found the pesto recipe on Food Network. Check out the instruction from the site, it’s super simple to recreate.

Ingredients for chicken & pasta:

  • 2 packs of thinly sliced chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoon Montreal chicken spice
  • 2 tablespoon Chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 box of pasta of your choice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • squirt of lemon juice

  1. Cook the pasta according to the box.
  2. Marinate the chicken with olive oil, Montreal chicken spice, garlic, and chilli powder. Mix it well and start grilling/pan fry it.
  3. Cut the avocados open. Place the avocados, garlic cloves, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a blender. Allow it to blend until it has a creamy consistency. Mix it in with the pasta.
  4. Now you can start placing it on your place. First add the pasta, then chicken and pesto sauce.

Enjoy! Let me know your recipe for pesto, so I can try it! 🙂

Much Love,

Why falling in love is the best feeling in the world?

If you’re anything like me, then you most likely, love Nicolas Sparks movies, or any kind of love movies. As much as I hate to admit it, I secretly love it. I love watching two people slowly fall for each other and eventually fall in love. When I was younger, I always dreamed about  that “magical” moment, but who didn’t? As i got older, I thought it was more and more unrealistic and even not possible. I remember at one point, I actually told myself that – love ain’t real. (haha, in those exact words too.)

I’ll be realistic, you might not find that special someone until later on in your life – and that’s okay. You might meet him/her in high school, college, your first job, the unconventional bar, or at a friend’s party. Who knows where you’ll meet him/her? But, I think that’s the fun of it. The anticipated feeling that you will soon be so heads over heels for someone that you know or haven’t even met. I remember when I had that feeling and I thought it was the most magical feeling in the world, and I wasn’t even in love yet!

Then one day out of nowhere, you meet someone so amazing that you just can’t help but smile. Everything he/she does is so perfect. From the way he/she walks, talks, acts, you love it all. I call this the “I like him/her so much, I think I might be a stalker” phase. You want to know everything that he/she is interested in and how you can incorporate that into your life and spark a connection. Eventually, you end up being friends with them. You start to talk and find common interest, yay! You two exchange phone numbers, and stay up every night talking on the phone/texting. The world seems to disappear as you allow yourself to melt into this relationship. It’s just you and him/her against the world. That feeling right there, is what makes falling in love so great. When you feel like nothing is in your way of happiness and he/she is on the other side, ready to commit.

Being in a committed relationship is hard work and I’m sure anyone in one can agree. But, I can guarantee anyone can agree that it’s so worth it in the end. Seeing that smile on his/her face at the end of the day, that’s what makes it so worth it. To be honest, what doesn’t take hard work and effort? School, work, family, friends, everything takes time. As long as you truly believe that it’s totally worth it, then you go for it! Love conquers all. 🙂

Ramen Burger – the healthy version

Ramen burger has been the hype lately and I still haven’t had the chance to try it. Nonetheless, I decided to make it myself and recreate this delicious dish. If you’re interested, then keep on reading.

  • 1 pack of ground turkey
  • 2 packs of ramen noodles
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 4 portabella mushroom
  • 1 potato
  • provolone cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • olive oil for cooking

This recipe is super simple, homemade. It’s definitely healthier than your average burger or ramen burger. 😉 Check out how I made mine:

  1. Cook your ramen until tender, drain it and rinse it with cold water. Make sure it’s cooled before proceeding to the next step.
  2. Mix your cooled ramen with 2 eggs until well mixed. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pack a square patty size in cling wrap, this should yield 8 patties in total. After wrapping it, place it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
  3. With the ramen in the fridge, you can now cook the turkey burger. Mix the ground turkey with the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper together. Start forming your patties, it should yield 5 thick patties.
  4. Add oil to your pan and start placing your patties down. Cover and let it cook through. Place cheese on top when done.
  5. Now, cut your potatoes into small strips. Start frying with olive oil when finished. Take it off the pan when done.
  6. Lastly, cook you portabella mushroom. Put it in a pan with some oil, cover it and let it cook through.
  7. Now you can start cooking your ramen “bun”. Put some oil on a pan and start frying the ramen 3 minutes per side.
  8. Slice your avocado now!
  9. You can start putting your burger together now! Ramen on the bottom, then the portabella mushroom, followed by the turkey burger with cheese and topped with a fresh avocado. Place the homemade fries on the side and you’re done!

Enjoy! This tasted really juicy and delicious. If you try this recipe out, comment below! 🙂

Much Love,

Carlos Bakery in Hoboken, NJ

HI everyone! I just recently became a writer for the Odyssey Online, check out my newest article here. If you agree with what I wrote, then please share it on your social media, it’ll help me a tremendous amount! 🙂   My family and I went to Hoboken, NJ this past weekend for my sister’s early early birthday celebration. All she kept saying was, “I want to go to Carlos Bakery!!” So, we searched for the address and finally found it! The store itself is fairly small, not as big as I thought it was going to be. The first thing you do is take a ticket, our said “15”. We were only on number 88 at that point. As we were waiting for our number, we were looking at all the delicious pastries and try and decide which 3 pastries we want to get. We decided on the below two:
Mixed berries cheesecake! It was soo fluffy and creamy, so delicious. The berries taste so fresh, it doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting on top of the cheesecake for days. The cheesecake had this crust that tasted super doughy. It almost tasted like dough that is cooked on the outside, but a little uncooked on the inside. Can you just picture that?? We also got the…  Dark chocolate mousse cake! I wasn’t the biggest fan of this. It was quite messy and the chocolate was really strong. We thought it was a cake, but it turned out to be a mousse cake, so we were kinda disappointed. But the chocolate was really smooth, if you’re into that, then this cake is for you!

I would definitely go again and try different pastries!

Have you ever been there?! If so, what did you get?

Much Love,
